Our Texas Burrito

When we were in the hospital in Texas right after we had him the nurse was showing us how to swaddle our baby. When she was done she said, "We call it the Texas Burrito!". I love it!

Trying To Be Patient

Dominic has always been a fussy baby. The really bad colicky stuff stopped at about two months which is when he started sleeping through the night. Now he is still fussy but isn't sleeping through the night! I recently changed his formula which helped for about a week. I've been pretty patient, telling myself he will grow out of it. But now I really think something is wrong... Has anyone else had this problem? We are going to get him an antacid prescription today to see if he might have silent reflux.

On a more positive note, we purchased him a cute little Baby Einstein bouncer yesterday. He seems to love it...

He rolled over from his back to his stomach for the first time yesterday. I was on the phone with my mom while Dominic was holding my finger when all of the sudden he flipped over! it surprised us both!

He also discovered his feet the other day. Now grabbing them is his new favorite thing to do.

Crazy Life

My poor baby boy has been driven all over the place in his short four months of life. Since the three day drive from Austin to Rexburg I've taken him to Montana, Utah, and Washington. It's really done a number on his sleeping habits. By two months old Dominic was sleeping eight hours at night. By three months he was sleeping nine and a half. Now at four months I'm lucky to get five hours straight!

I'm only working 15 hours a week, but I work one on one with an autistic five year old...let's just say he wears me out! Also, I seem to be catching every sickness that walks in the door of the elementary school I work at. I've just been sooo tired lately! So, that's what has been happening around here and that's why the blog is being neglected.

Instead of giving a bunch of detailed updates like I said I would on the last post, you are going to get a picture update...which is probably better anyway!

The drive back from Texas.

Trying to figure out where all this stuff is going to go!

Boating with family and friends over Labor Day weekend.

Dominic's blessing.

Conference weekend in Utah.
This is my friend Chelsea's husband and little girl. She LOVED drinking right out of the pitcher...so cute!
Laying on Aunt Allie.

Hanging out in Spokane.
Lookin' good in his new hoodie we bought in WA.

This is how uncle David babysits...

Brinlee's blessing.

Bath time in Rexburg a couple days ago. (My blog isn't private so I thought I would edit the pic a little bit ;)

Now that I'm up to date I'd like to say a couple things about Dominic...

He turned 4 months old yesterday, but he looks more like 6 months. We haven't had a doctors appointment this month yet so no stats. He is doing really well holding himself up on his tummy. He loves to babble and play with you while he lays on his back. Oh and he loves his Grandpa Weathers that he finally got to meet last week! Anyway, that's about it...until next time...

Update Time

I know it's been forever since I last posted. Life has been a little crazy!

Since the last post we have:

- Driven back to Idaho (Of course something broke down on us)
- Started school/work (I got a part-time job)
- Moved back into our old apartment (It's been tricky fitting all our new baby stuff in it)
- Had a "family reunion" (Check out my sisters blog)
- Blessed Dominic
- Took a trip to Montana
- Gotten sick
- And are still trying to organize our lives here in Idaho with a baby!

I want to post pics of everything and give a more detailed account, but I'm just too tired to do that all right now. So be patient with me and the posts will come...

Until then here are some cute pics of our favorite little guy.

I love that his big belly is hanging out of his shirt.

Nap time.
So cute!

I found him like this...I don't even know how he got his head to bend that far!
We stuck Frenchie in his car seat and somehow he got his arm right through the middle of him.

My Chunky Monkey

That's right, I call my little man "Chunky Monkey". He had his two month doctors appointment today and he weighs 13 lbs 4 oz. That's in the 75th percentile for his age! We love his fat rolls.

Look at those thighs!

He also got his first immunizations today which was not fun for him... or for me! He screamed so hard he stopped breathing and turned bright red. For the next 6-7 hrs at home he was pretty miserable, even after the children's Tylenol.

Anyway, here are some more photos for your enjoyment.

Happy to be in his car seat. He loves car rides.

People say he looks like my dad. What do you think?

That's Frenchie the snake rattle right there. It's my miracle toy...gets him to stop crying every time. Best $1.99 IKEA purchase I ever made.

Just fell asleep while doing some light reading.

Where Did They Go?

These last two months have flown by! Do you ever feel like each day seems like forever and then the next thing you know it the week is over? That's how I have been feeling lately. Taking care of this kid is hard work! Ha ha.

Well, he is officially two months old today and he's such a cutie!

Father and son. Look at Tyler's new facial hair. It's the longest he's ever had it!

Turn That Frown Upside Down

You know the rest :).

Here is why I'm frowning...

I can't take him out in this heat. He already has heat rash on his face, arms, neck, and back from temperatures not in the 100's. So, I must stay in...for his sake.

But he sure has made me smile with this face...

Which, he makes regularly now and I love it.
