Short and Chubby...
Is the new long and slim!
So, don't make fun of my new phone. It's the bomb. And I know what you're thinking, "Who says 'the bomb' anymore?" Well, I do.
Anyway, you may feel like this phone is ridiculous. It's short, chubby, and blue. But, what I haven't shown you yet is this:
It's like a smart phone, but without the $49.99 a month tacked onto it. I just pay $5/mo. to text. Which is really all I would use a smart phone for anyway. I'm in front of a computer ALL day. I don't need a mini one in my pocket, too. Not that those huge things would fit in my tiny pockets anyway.
I usually pick phones out by brand and looks. I'm an advocate of Samsung and I almost got the Sway, but I ventured out and tried this baby. Don't worry I read a bunch of reviews first. Honestly, I love it! I think it's adorable. It's taking some getting used to with the microscopic buttons, but I have small fingers. I charged the battery when I got it last Wednesday and haven't charged it since...it still has two of the four bars left! Granted, I don't talk on the phone a ton, but still. My last phone would die by the end of the second day, which I thought was pretty good.
Well, enough about my phone. We are heading to Spokompton on Saturday and I'm pretty excited. My boss said I could only stay a week and he wants me to bring my computer along in case I need to do stuff for them. I'm really trying to finish all my work before I leave though.
I probably won't post until we get back. I'm sure it will be filled with pictures though so get excited...

Continuing Education
When I got my old job back at Hatch Marketing I was put back on the assignment of marketing for mobile marketing. When I came back the first day I was surprised to find out I was getting my own office, which used to be the production managers office. Apparently, Chad, the production manager got a job somewhere else and no longer worked for Hatch. A few days later a graphic designer for the REX moved into my office, but she is only here twice a week. I LOVE having my own office!
OK, onto what this post really is about. Instead of hiring a new production manager to make all the theater screen advertisements, they decided to use me. ME! I did not go to school to produce motion ads, cut and edit audio, or really anything in the process of making a screen ad. Well, time to learn, they say! So, we downloaded Final Cut Pro, quadrupled the ram on my computer and a week later here is what you have:
Don't be too critical. It is my first time making an ad that had any motion graphics. I made the entire thing from start to finish and I'm a little proud of myself. I hope that doesn't sound cocky, but I never thought that I would be doing anything like this for work. Now all I need is a raise...

Laughable
I wrote a blog post this summer about the Twilight books and promised a review on the fourth book. Today is your lucky day because not only am I going to tell you what I thought about Breaking Dawn, but the Twilight movie, as well. Ha, ha, I'm sure most of you don't care, but I feel like I have to say something!
Breaking Dawn was OK. Her writing was better than the first book, however it was still mediocre. While I was reading it I thought it was sooo Mormon for her to get married at 19 and then get pregnant on her honeymoon! Ha ha, awesome. It was also pretty ridiculous her getting pregnant and having a half human half vampire baby. The best part is Jacob "imprinting" on her baby. Give me a break! Too funny. I was sad at the end when their vampire war never actually turned into a full on fight. That would have been pretty sweet. Think about it, all those "super powers" fighting each other. If a man wrote the book you would be guaranteed a sweet fight in the end. Where of course good would triumph over evil! Overall, the book was entertaining.

I watch a lot of movies. I have only walked out of one because it was so bad. Not bad as in I was offended because of my moral standards (although I probably should walk out of those), but because it was made so poorly. I won't even walk out of a movie if I think it's cheesy, I don't like the story line, it's too scary, or because I am simply not entertained. I will only walk out of a movie if it is just plain terrible. I wanted to walk out of Twilight. BUT I did not. I endured the entire thing out of pure curiosity.
The acting was awful. The cinematography was bad. The special affects were worse than bad. The writing was cheesy, even more cheesy than the books. The directing was bad. I just felt awkward watching the whole movie. And more than a few times I couldn't help but laugh, rather loudly, in the theater...during serious scenes. I wasn't the only one doing that either. I heard a lot of laughing in the theater when the scene was not meant to be funny. The only time a really felt any emotion was when she was fleeing and she told her Dad she didn't want to be stuck in Forks anymore and her Dad seemed so sad.
I could go OFF about all the things that were so wrong about the movie, but you don't want to hear it. Tyler and I talked about it pretty much all night, listing all the horrible things we could remember.
I honestly went into this movie with optimism. I heard bad things and good. I was severely disappointed. I know that the budget was small so they couldn't afford good, well anything. If they make the next book into a movie I sure hope they get a much bigger budget. The worst part about the whole thing is, Twilight could have been a really great movie. Sad day.

Hmmm...
I don't really know what to post about, but I'm sick of seeing that tag post...
We went to Boise for Thanksgiving. It was pretty fun. We stayed at Tyler's aunt and uncles cabin Wednesday and Thursday night. It was super cute, but not finished. There were only three bedrooms done. With five married couples there we were the lowest on the totem pole. So, we blew up our blow-up mattress and squeezed it into the laundry room. At least we had a little privacy.
Tyler has three brothers and one sister. I grew up with five sisters and one brother. When spending five days with a bunch of teenage boys, (ok two teenage boys and one that acts like one), I had a lot of adjusting to do. I'm really just not used to it. By Saturday I wanted to tie up his three brothers, put them all in separate rooms and tell them to quit ganging up on their sister. Instead I read two books.
Speaking of books. One of the ones I read in Boise was about population control. It was a fictional book about the US government making a population law, kind of like China. They were only allowed to have two children. After the second child they would perform surgery so the mother would be unable to get pregnant. If something happened and they did have a third child they were required to get rid of it, kill it. Isn't that terrible? The law was made because of food resources or rather the lack of food. Since every family had no more than four members they only had a certain amount of food they could purchase. The government controlled everything from what farmers could grow, what factories could make, and where people could live. It really got me thinking about how that could happen or if it could happen. I mean, right now there are several auto makers going under. The government has thought about, instead of just bailing them out, they could just buy out the companies. If they do that then they will have control over those companies. Well, what else could they buy out? Anything they buy, they control. Just a thought.
So, it hasn't really snowed in Rexburg yet. I mean REALLY snowed. I think about three times now we have gotten a tiny bit, but nothing has lasted any length of time. It's so weird. December has come and it got up to 47 degrees yesterday. Rexburg is supposed to be cold! I'm not complaining about the temperatures, don't get me wrong. But I wouldn't mind some snow to lighten the ground. It looks a little ugly out right now. I, also, wouldn't mind the snow to go snowboarding. Jackson and Targhee both only have two small lifts open. I'm getting impatient.
That's pretty much all that is going on in my/our lives right now. The kitchen is still not done, but we did get our new counter tops in. Now we just need to paint and put everything back together... Pictures to come!

Feeling Popular
I never get tagged for these things so I'm feeling pretty popular right now... Sorry if this bores you to death, but I have to do it.
1. I always feel incredibly white in the winter, but I'm usually tanner than most people I know.
2. In the nine years that I have been legally able to work I have had 13 jobs, one of which I have worked for three different times.
3. I have become a softy in my old age.
4. In high school I was super flexible. I could even put both feet behind my head and now, six and a half years later, I can barely touch my toes.
5. I always eat things like sandwiches and hamburgers super fast because I'm afraid the bread will get soggy and I will throw up. I hate throwing up.
6. I love shopping. I HATE trying on clothes. Which means I usually end up taking a lot of things back.
7. My new phrase of the day is, "I found this really cool website today..." I'm on the computer far more than Tyler and I think he thinks I'm a little strange.

Holiday Season
I, like many of you out there, LOVE the holiday season. I love the food, lights, Christmas songs non-stop on 94.3, white snow, evergreen trees inside, salvation army bell ringers, nativity scenes, snowmen (real and fake), fire in fireplaces, decorating sugar cookies, PIE CRUST COOKIES (you know what I'm talking about Weathers clan), shopping for other people, Santa Clauses everywhere, eating too much candy, and so much more. BUT most of all I love love love spending time with family!
I remember in Young Womens, a long long time ago ;), one of the my teachers asked us what kind of traditions our family had. For some reason this question was really hard for me to answer. I don't even recall answering it actually. But with the anticipation of going to my parents for Christmas I'm looking forward to all the things we do every year, traditions.
I'm looking forward to playing nerts until my brain won't function anymore. I'm looking forward to shopping with my sisters at the mall with our gift cards we got in our stockings the day before. I'm looking forward to asking Whitney to wrap all my presents I bought because she's way better at it than me. I'm looking forward to making a million pies even though my Mom says we need to cut back...every year. I'm looking forward to reading of Jesus' birth from the Bible on Christmas morning. I'm looking forward to eating a ginormous lunch after we clean up all the wrapping paper in the living room. I'm looking forward to taking family pictures. I'm looking forward to staying in my pj's all day playing new board games and watching new movies we got for Christmas. I'm looking forward to being goofy with my five sisters and teasing our Mom, (you're such a good sport, Mom). I'm looking forward to:

WORK!
I was going to wait until someone commented on my last post before I wrote a new one, but I can't hold it in anymore!
For those of you who didn't know I started working at Qwest as a Sales & Service Representative when we moved back to Idaho. I applied for the job thinking two things: good pay and full benefits. When I started there I was pretty excited. It is a good company and there are a lot of opportunities for growth. They, also, treat their employees really well. Sounds like a great job, right? WRONG! My job entailed answering the phone and helping customers with their billing questions and then hopefully selling them a service we provided that they currently did not have. Sounds easy enough. Well, at least that's what I thought at first.
We spent four weeks in a classroom not even touching a phone. Learning their programs was confusing, but I understood better than most in my class of 24. That really isn't saying much considering my fellow classmates... Anyway, fifth week in training we start taking real calls. We are still in training for another six weeks. The second day I'm on the phone I get a lady that wants something that I don't know how to do. This happens on almost every call for the first week. We are told to put them on hold, raise our hand, and wait for an available trainer to come by and help us. In the meantime I'm trying to find the answer myself. I get back on the phone to tell her sorry for the wait and she BLEW UP! She went off on me about how stupid I was, that I shouldn't be working there, how I should have found her answer by now, and on and on! At this point the tears started flowing. How could this lady be so cruel to someone she doesn't even know?
My trainer came over and was right next to me frantically looking for the answer to this ladies question. Not even my trainer, who has worked for Qwest for over three years, could figured it out. And here is this lady calling me retarded when I've been on the phone for TWO DAYS! The worst part is, we aren't aloud to tell the people on the phone we are in training or that there is a supervisor available. So, I just had to listen to this lady verbally abuse me for almost an hour. I was bawling once I got off the phone!
Well, I took two more weeks of the abuse and couldn't handle it anymore. I don't know how people can work at these jobs. I was just incapable of handling all that negativity day after day. So, here I am writing you from my very own Hatch Marketing office. OK I share it with another girl who is only here twice a week. It's warm, my chair is big and comfy, my computer is beautiful and my job is fun. What more could a girl ask for?
A word of advice for those of you who are unkind to those customer service reps on the phone:
They might be in training and are doing the best they can to help you. OR they might have worked there for three years and have never been asked the question you asked them. So, cut them some slack. They are real people and have real feelings. The mistake on your bill is not their fault. They don't own the company and they probably don't care if you threaten to cancel your services. If you get their employee information and threaten to turn them in, the managers won't listen to you so don't bother. Just be a nice person and have some patience. They will really appreciate it.

A Fairy-tale Wedding
Tyler and I went down to San Diego this weekend for a good friends wedding. It was BEAUTIFUL! The bride looked gorgeous and the temple looks like a castle. We had such a good time. Neither of us had been to the San Diego temple so that was a nice experience. The inside is more amazing than the outside. We went to their sealing and it was so special. I don't remember a whole lot from my own so it was good to sit in and enjoy someone else's, especially such a good friend. I am so happy for both of them! They look so happy together. They were also so nice to get us rides to and from the airport, lend us a vehicle for the entire weekend, AND let us stay at their apartment! Thanks you guys ;) Here's a few cute pics:

Our New Addition...
TO THE FAMILY!!! I'm pregnant!
Ha ha ha yeah right! BUT we did get to go down to Logan this weekend to visit a good friend and her new little girl. She is adorable! The funny part is our friends name is Kimberly and her husbands name is Tyler. Well, my Tyler got a little experience being a dad and he looked so cute. The other Tyler had to work all day and when we went to the park we needed a man to wear "the jeep". That's what Kimberly calls it anyway. So, we strapped it on him and put little Ashlyn in and they both loved it. Here are a few cute pictures.

We had a fun Halloween driving down to Logan when I got off work. We arrived around 10pm and then went out to dinner. We started a scary movie at like 1am. We're crazy, I know! The Never Ending Project
For those who do not know already, Tyler and I live in his parents basement. I know what you are all think...Are you crazy?! And maybe we are :) I was extremely hesitant to do it, but in all honesty things are great. It's a daylight basement so we have our own front door, our own bedroom, bathroom, and front room. It is actually quite cute. AND we are saving a ton of $$$! We don't pay for rent, utilities, internet, cable TV, and right now we aren't even paying for food. Talk about a hookup. Our only problem is the attempt we are making to turn a large laundry room into a small kitchen.
Tyler's parents own a few houses that they rent out. In one of the garages there were some upper cabinets and a long countertop/cupboards with a sink in it. So, we took that all out and are using them to put in our kitchen. There has been a lot of cutting, (to fit into our space), and a lot of sanding. We have been working on this for like a month now and that's all we have gotten done! It is turning out to be a bigger project than we anticipated. I am certain that it will turn out great though! Here are some before pictures:
These first three are the "laundry room". There was already a sink and a fridge in there along with a washer and dryer. We bought a table, got a stove, and took the entry door off so that is also crammed into the room.
The white sink in this one has been removed.
Here is the long countertop/cupboards with the sink in it. There was a ton of stuff on it at the time so I just took a pic of what a small section looked like. We are replacing the handles to a nice crome and painting everything black. We are also putting new countertops on.
This is a small sectional that was already in the laundry room. We removed to ugly top and will make it match the other countertops. It will also be painted black of course.
This is the plate rack that we bought. Since there won't be a lot of room in our four cupboards we thought this was the perfect solution for our dishes. Plus, I think our dishes are cute so why not show them off?
This last picture is my own little draw up of what the kitchen will look like when we are all done. Don't be shocked at how good my computer drawing skills are.
Sorry to those whom I just bored to death. I have never done a home project of this caliber before...I've never really done ANY home project before so it's a big deal for me. When we finish I'm never going to want to move out, otherwise what a waist of hard work! I will post finished product pictures in a few months when it's actually done, ha ha! OK hopefully sooner, (crossing fingers)!
Tyler's parents own a few houses that they rent out. In one of the garages there were some upper cabinets and a long countertop/cupboards with a sink in it. So, we took that all out and are using them to put in our kitchen. There has been a lot of cutting, (to fit into our space), and a lot of sanding. One Way Tolerance
OK this is the last time that I will post about this. But the real thing that gets me about same sex marriage being legal is the one way tolerance. Churches and religions are forced to tolerate same sex marriage even though it is against everything they believe. Or else there are consequences. But why is there no tolerance for the church NOT accepting same sex marriage? I am probably not explaining this very clearly. Watch this video and let me know what you think.

Honeymoon Shenanigans
Here are some photos taken almost four months ago. I thought some might be interested in seeing them.
The first two are of our sweet jungle themed room.
We had a six hour layover in San Francisco and we had 3 hours of sleep the night before.
This is part of our room at the resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I didn't think anyone would really care to see the bathroom and bedroom ;) The whole place was nice though. We even had our own washer and dryer...thank goodness!
We went on a jet ski tour in the ocean. I had never ridden one in the ocean before and it was a blast. I even threw Tyler and I off once. It was funny until I was stung by a million jelly fish...
The resort put on a fiesta so of course we went to it. They gave out tequila like water! Too bad neither of us drink.
One night we cooked ourselves a nice mexican dish, chicken enchiladas. They were delicious.
We, also, went on a zip line adventure through a desert canyon near our resort. We looked super cool...
There were I think six different zip lines that went back and fourth through the canyon. They started out small and then got bigger and bigger. It was a blasty blast!
There was a "Tarzan Swing", which was pretty fun. I almost lost my shoe though. This is Tyler going on it.
This bridge was really wobbly. They had to clip us to a cable so we wouldn't fall off.
At the very end of the adventure we had to repel back down. It was actually really high up so it was a rush. We both loved it though.
