It's Official

The kitchen is done. Last night I washed a bunch of dishes in the dish washer. I've never been so excited to do dishes in my life! And I hate doing dishes so that's a big deal. It's still a mess in there so no pictures yet. I'll post soon before and after pictures. It's going to be great. For now, here are a couple pictures of us working away...

East Coast Here We Come!

As many of you already know, Tyler works for a summer sales company called APX. This will be his fourth summer working with an office somewhere in the country, our second together. Last summer we went to Chicago and this summer we thought we might be going to DC. The news came in today...we will not be going to DC. Sorry Lauren, Wendy, Emily and anyone else living in the area! But we will be heading to the great state of Connecticut!



We will most likely be located near the capital, Hartford. The office we are going with is covering the whole state, so the sales manager really gets to decide where we live.

Downtown Hartford:


I don't know if I told you yet, but I'm excited to get out of Rexburg and into an exciting new city! I've never lived, or really gone out east before. I don't really count Florida. This is going to be a great adventure. I love adventures!

Everyone please come visit me. New York City is a mere 2.5 hours away. I will be visiting often and wouldn't mind a travel buddy ;)

Blast From The Recent Past

We spent all of last summer just north of Chicago, in a "village" called Gurnee. Both our laptops had stopped working so I didn't really post any pictures. SO, I decided to put a few up. Enjoy...

My sis and her family came to visit from Indianapolis the second weekend we were there. Here is her hubby and son at the beach of lake Michigan.

Building a sand castle!



We could see six flags from our apartment balcony. It was funny, because we could hear people screaming on the rides when we went outside. Anyway, we all went to Six Flags on Fathers Day. My sis is talking on the phone with my mom while we were waiting in line for the Superman ride.



We tried to go to a Cubs game while we were there, but Tyler worked so much it was nearly impossible. The last couple days we were there Tyler took off work and we went to a White Sox game. The Cubs weren't playing :( It was really fun though.



At the end of the summer we went down through Indianapolis to visit my sister and her family on our way back out west. Here is our niece and Tyler at the zoo. She loved being on his shoulders. I bet she liked the view from 7 feet up.



We went to the zoo in Chicago, but I stupidly forgot the camera. So, the only pictures we have are on Tyler's phone. Anyway, this is a cute elephant at the Indianapolis zoo.



A good friend from high school moved to Indianapolis for her husband to go to dental school. Actually the same dental school as my brother-in-law. We visited her while we were there.



Tyler's parents bought a boat last summer so when we got back to Rexburg we went boating as much as we could before the weather got bad. Here is one time that we went with his parents and convinced them to ride on a tube together! It really was hilarious. Thanks for the entertainment Sid and Karen ;)

This summer we will be working for the same company as last year. Tyler will be a tech while I will continue to work for Hatch Marketing on my home computer. We are really looking forward to a change of scenery and Tyler having a break from school. We are probably going out east somewhere...maybe Washington DC.

Subvertising

Last night I had a dream where I was in my underwear the entire time. I hear that dreams like that mean you are feeling self-conscious about your image. I'm sure I am, but who isn't these days that pays any attention to the media, more specifically advertisements! This subvertising ad makes me feel a little better though...







The only thing I don't like is that most of the editing tools are covering up Christina's face and I've read that she is more naturally beautiful than the other two and needs less "touch ups". Brittany on the other hand makes for some hard work ;)

So, for those of you having dreams you are in the nude or your undies...don't worry, you're as beautiful as anyone else!

Lets Get Physical...Physical!

I'm going to let you all in on how pathetic my life has begun to be. OK maybe I'm being a little harsh. It's more like how pathetic my workout life as begun to be. Here is a typical day for me:

Wake up at 8:15am. Get to work by 9ish. Sit at a desk in front of a computer all day. Come home between 5:30 and 6:30pm. Eat dinner. Hang out with Tyler, (this includes varying activities.) Go to bed around 11pm.

Here is a typical day in my high school days:

Wake up between 5:30 and 6:30am (depending on if I had early morning seminary that year). My high school started at 7:30am, which I have learned is much earlier than most high schools. Had 7 hours of classes, one of which was advanced weight training. School was out at 2:40pm. Then went to practice for either volleyball, gymnastics, or track, depending on the season. Conditioned usually at the beginning and end of every 2.5 hour practice. In between conditioning were workouts, drills, games, races, and tumbling. Caught the bus home from practice around 5:30pm. Arrived home around 6pm. Ate dinner. Iced muscles. Did homework. Went to bed around 10pm.

How did I ever do that?! I even kept it up my freshman year of college. I didn't know how else to live. I played on a competitive league volleyball team, took volleyball and tennis classes, and worked out 6 days a week for at least 2 hours on my own time.

Like I said, I'm so pathetic now. At only 25 I never thought my body would be like this. I get tired so fast and easily now. I NEED to get into shape. I hate that my muscles are withering away and I'm doing hardly anything to stop it. Tyler bought me a gym membership the beginning of September and I can count on both hands how many times I've used it since then. Well, it's a new year folks and I'm not going to let that gym membership get wasted any longer!

Christmas Come and Gone

It was a sad day when we had to leave Spokane and all it's festivities to return to our normal life in Rexburg. We only stayed a week because my boss said it was soo pertinent that I return to work to do ALL these things before he left for a few months. Of course, there has been few things to do since I returned and his leaving date has been postponed. But, enough with my griping. We really had a blast and here are some pictures to prove it...(We should have taken a lot more, but we forget!)

ALL my siblings/husbands went snowboarding/skiing the day after Christmas. There were a couple first timers, but it was a lot of fun having everyone there! These really are the only pics we took of the trip. I wish we would have gotten one of everyone all decked out in their gear...maybe next year ;)





This one isn't actually from our trip to the mountain, it's on the jump we built by our house. Whitney did pretty good for never going off any sort of jump before!



In summary, we played a ton in the snow, ate a lot of good food, played a lot of games, ate some more, and really enjoyed each others company!

Get Out of the Way!

As many of you I'm sure already know, Spokane was dumped on the week before and the week of Christmas. There were record amounts of snow, literally. My dad mentioned one of the first days we were there he saw some kids sledding on the perfect hill close to our house. Tyler and I went to go check it out and indeed it was perfect. A couple days later, Tyler, my lil sis Whitney, my brother-in-law Cory, and I went down with our snowboards and built a nice little jump. Here are a few of the results.

I would like the mention that Tyler stuck almost all of his attempts, but we didn't get them on video so I posted the one that looked the coolest. Play it in reverse...it's quite entertaining.

Those were all from the first day we built the jump. When we came back the next day with more siblings and some sleds we found the hill packed with little children. Half of them were trying to take their sleds off our precious jump and did some damage to it. We tried to go off it a few more times, but we kept having to tell the kids that were hanging out right below it to get out of the way. None of us could stick it due to some indentation and its power to shoot you straight up into the air and land you on your butt.

We all had a really good time taking a tube down the hill. Wendy and I made the record of going the furthest, nearly running into someone's house a ways after the hill ended,(you can see the house in Tyler's video.) Allie and Kristin were a close second. I wish we had them on video. Wendy does have a video of my mom going down after we had to talk her into for 20 minutes! It's a pretty sweet video...Wendy, please post it! And whoever has the other videos of people going down, post them too.

Well, I will post pictures of our trip another time. I hope you enjoyed these videos in the meantime.
